How To Master The Art Of Packing Light | Travel | Converge

Packing light or traveling with only hand luggage is something that many travelers definitely aspire to do, but not all are able to achieve since it’s definitely quite difficult depending on where you’re going and for how long – it can also be more difficult if, for example, you’re traveling with children or other people in general and you need a lot of luggage for whatever reason.

However in most travel situations it is actually quite possible to travel with hand luggage only, so in this post we’re going to share with you exactly how to master the art of packing light and traveling only with hand luggage since, not only does it make your journey a lot cheaper in many cases, but it’s far less stressful to travel with hand luggage overall than it is to travel with heavy suitcases that need to be dragged around and then that you have to spend time on the other end waiting for.

Make a packing list:

Packing lists can literally be as simple as taking a piece of paper, dividing the categories of things you need to pack and then ticking them off as you go, or if you prefer something more fancy or a digital list you can use something like Trello or even use a printed packing list if you prefer – the main point here is that you organize your packing by keeping everything noted so that you’re not taking more than you need.

Pick outfits:

One main reason people end up with too much stuff when traveling is because they majorly overestimate the amount of clothes they’ll wear, so instead get strict with yourself and pack according to actual outfits. If you need more than one per day, that’s fine, but packing per outfit makes it easier overall to not pack more than you need.

Look at the weather and the climate:

One of the biggest factors in being able to pack light or not really depends on the weather and the climate. So if you’re going to a cold place then you’re going to obviously need heavier stuff which could make it more challenging to pack with only hand luggage, but if you’re going to a place where the weather is milder and you know you can get away with some lighter clothing and some Golf Shoes by Jack Grace, then you’re definitely going to find it easier.

Cut down on bulky extras:

One of the easiest ways to travel light and bring only hand luggage is by being able to cut down the bulky extra items such as things like cosmetics, and although you can definitely take these with you, it’s always a better idea to take only what you need and then when you get what you need, take only the travel sizes made for hand luggage – even if you do bring larger ones, you won’t be allowed to travel with them anyway if they’re over 100ml, so you’re just wasting money and products by bringing them.
