Employees don’t need to be friends with their boss. They do however, need to have some kind of working relationship. A bad boss is often one of the main reasons why people choose to leave their job, so it helps to analyse your company structure and to also make sure that there are no issues with management.
Bored or Unchallenged
Nobody wants to be unchallenged or bored by their work. If you have an employee who feels this way, it’s your job to help them find their passion. Work with them to make sure that they are engaged, excited and challenged by the job they do every day. If you are unable to do this, your employee will find someone else who will, and you’ll have lost another valuable member of your workforce.

It’s important that managers sit down with all of their employees so they can discuss how relevant their position is and so that they can understand the deliverables too. When you sit down with them to do this, it will help them to feel more connected and it will also remind them that they are a part of something that’s much bigger than the job that they do.

Organisations often talk about independence, autonomy and even empowerment. If you want to make sure this is something that your team thrives on, then you have to loosen up your work protocol. Consider having flexible hours, or even giving your team the chance to work away from home if you want. When you do, you will increase the trust that you have in them and they will feel more rewarded as a result.
