If you are looking for some fun ways to pimp up the home for the spring season, there are loads of avenues you can go down and fun DIYs you can try at home this weekend. The floor of our rooms is often part of the home which can be neglected more than the rest, because we spend most of our time walking on top of it we don’t always take a minute to stop and really see it for what it is. However the flooring we choose in the home can have a big impact on the space, which is why we are looking at some of the ways you can pimp your floor this week.

Add texture

One of the ways we can make our flooring instantly more fun and exciting is to add some texture and layers to it. Rather than having a simple carpet on your floor you could opt for something a little more grand such as a shag pile carpet or go in a completely different direction and think about laying down some stone or tiles which will add some natural texture to the ground. This is a simple step but it can make all the difference when you want a stunning space.

Make it bright

One of the things which most of us never think about going to the floor is actually adding some fun colour and patterns to the design. A floor doesn’t need to be boring and in fact by having a bright colour using epoxy floor coating systems on the floor, it can make all the difference to the space and it can look amazing. For example in a seaside home you could have a bright yellow floor to walk on and this will bring the sunshine into your home every single day.

Bring in some fluff

Fluffy rugs and carpets and other accessories are something which most of us have in the home already, but when was the last time you updated them? New carpets can make a huge difference to a room, especially if you opt for a thick heavy duty carpet which will make everyone want to take off their socks as soon as they enter a room. When it comes to wooden floors you can accessorise with small circular rugs which will add a small element of comfort as well as some depth to the design of the room.

Polish concrete

Polished concrete is a floor option which is often overlooked in the home, but it really shouldn’t be. Polished concrete can be a brilliant addition to a contemporary living room or a home office or gym. It is clean and easy to manage and you can even ask for marvel designs to be imprinted in the concrete before it is sealed. It is the ultimate modern flooring option and won’t need a lot of maintenance.

Mosaic it

If in the bathroom or the kitchen you are feeling brave, why not create a mosaic floor with some different coloured tiles and a design of your choice? Your home will look like something from a Greek island and it will be a talking point whenever someone visits.
